Two passengers from West Bengal arrested with 13.800 kg of ganja in train

Virudhunagar Railway Police on Wednesday seized 13.800 kg of ganja and arrested two passengers from West Bengal from an express train running between Madurai and Virudhunagar railway stations.

A team of police, led by Sub-Inspector of Police (Crime), Annadurai, checked the baggage of passengers in the Purulia-Tirunelveli Express train. During the check, the police team found two shoulder bags in a general compartment in the rear.

Upon checking them, the team found 13.800 kg ganja being smuggled by G. Subashkumar (28) and R. Rana (25) of Murshidabad in West Bengal. Further enquiry is under way.
