A tragic road accident near Abiramam resulted in the deaths of a mother and her nine-year-old son after their car collided with an omni bus. Two other family members were injured and are currently receiving treatment at a government hospital in Madurai.

Two persons of a family, B. Malarkodi, 43, of Valaiyankulam and her son, Jeshwin Bala, 9, were killed in a road accident involving their car and an omni bus at Seyyamangalam on Monday night.
Malarkodi’s husband, Balamurugan, 45, and another son, Nithin, 13, were injured in the accident. They were admitted to the Government Rajaji hospital in Madurai.
