Two more persons arrested in connection with Palani Math land case

The CB-CID on Wednesday arrested two more persons in connection with the case of fraudulent registration of Palani Math land. The accused have been remanded in judicial custody till October 21.
The CB-CID police arrested Sivasankari, a Junior Assistant at Palani Sub-Registrar office, who was earlier placed under suspension and Sivakumar, an advocate. The accused are currently lodged in the Madurai Central Prison.
In July, the CB-CID arrested four accused in connection with the case; D. Murugadass who had sold the land; K. Vellathurai and D. Sethupathi both buyers of the land and S. Anwardeen who had reportedly facilitated the deal. In August, the CB-CID arrested two more accused in connection with the case; suspended Sub-Registrar Justin Manikandan Subramanian and Jeyaprakash who is said to be a document writer.
