Two more arrested for businessman’s abduction in Coimbatore
Coimbatore police have arrested two additional suspects in connection with the abduction of a local businessman for a ₹2 crore ransom. This brings the total number of arrests to nine in a case involving a gang that kidnapped the victim in July.

The police have arrested two more members of a gang that abducted a businessman from Singanallur in Coimbatore and demanded a ransom of ₹2 crore in July this year.
K. Vimal (44) of Saravanampatti and P. Anbu (30) of Tiruchi district were arrested in connection with the abduction of S. Dhanasekaran (53), a resident of Mookambigai Nagar at Singanallur.
Mr. Dhanasekaran, who is into the sale of used cars, was abducted by five persons when he was standing near his under-construction house around 7.30 a.m. on July 5. They shoved him into a car, gagged and assaulted him, before demanding a ransom of ₹2 crore. The gang later released him.
