A tragic incident marred the Ganesh idol immersion procession in Raichur during the early hours of Saturday (September 19, 2026), claiming the lives of two minor boys and leaving a 35-year-old man injured.
The deceased have been identified as 12-year-old Suchit Kumar and 13-year-old Charan Kumar. The injured person, identified as Vijay (35), is currently undergoing treatment.
According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incident occurred when the driver of a tractor carrying a Ganesh idol for immersion drove in a rash manner while negotiating a speed breaker, causing all three victims to fall from the moving vehicle.
Immediately after the accident, the victims were rushed to Navodaya Hospital in Raichur. However, Suchit Kumar and Charan Kumar succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
