​A tragic incident marred the Ganesh idol immersion procession in Raichur during the early hours of Saturday (September 19, 2026), claiming the lives of two minor boys and leaving a 35-year-old man injured.

​The deceased have been identified as 12-year-old Suchit Kumar and 13-year-old Charan Kumar. The injured person, identified as Vijay (35), is currently undergoing treatment.

​According to the First Information Report (FIR), the incident occurred when the driver of a tractor carrying a Ganesh idol for immersion drove in a rash manner while negotiating a speed breaker, causing all three victims to fall from the moving vehicle.

​Immediately after the accident, the victims were rushed to Navodaya Hospital in Raichur. However, Suchit Kumar and Charan Kumar succumbed to their injuries during treatment.
