Two migrant workers held with 8 kg of suspected ganja in Kozhikode

Two migrant workers were arrested on Friday (September 25) with more than 8 kg of suspected ganja during a joint inspection by the Kozhikode City police’s District Anti-Narcotics Special Action Force (DANSAF) and the Town police near the Kozhikode railway station as part of Operation Toofan.

The arrested have been identified as Sanjay Das, 39, of Ramakrishna Palli in West Bengal, and Amareshwar Behera, 32, of New Kalikan in Odisha.

According to the police, the two had brought a large quantity of ganja from Odisha and were on their way to their place of stay at Puthiyappa when they were intercepted near the railway station.
