Two men were stabbed to death at Manippuram in Tirunelveli on Tuesday following a personal dispute between two families of the same community.
According to police, the deceased were identified as Dalton, 71, who runs a petrol bulk in Nellai Kannan Salai and his brother Nicolas Rajarathinam, 75.
The police said the accused, Senthil, 43, a resident of Manipuram, had gone to a temple in the area. At that time, a verbal altercation broke out between D. Narendran, 28, son of Dalton, reportedly over an issue concerning access to the temple. The verbal dispute escalated into a physical altercation, during which Senthil stabbed Dalton and Nicolas Rajarathinam.
