Two men murdered in separate incidents

A 50-year-old man was murdered at Sappani Kovil Street near Madurai South Gate on Saturday.

According to police, Saravana alias Sappani Saravanan, 50, a history sheeter, came out on bail recently.

While he was having tea at an eatery on Solai Alagupuram Street, he was confronted by a group of five men with weapons.

As he ran away from the group, he was chased by them for a few meters. When he fell on the ground, he was surrounded by the group and was continuously attacked by the gang with sharp weapons.

Jaihindpuram police registered a case and further investigation is under way.
