One of the accused in the case, Ramesh, 32, a resident of Elachipalayam, was an ambulance driver. On May 23, 2021, he and his friend Prabakaran were arrested under the POCSO Act by the Elachipalayam police for sexually assaulting a 15-year-old girl.
