Two persons were killed and two others injured after two motorcycles collided head-on on the Chennai-Tirupati National Highway near Tiruttani in the early hours of Saturday.

According to police, Tharun, 21, of Tiruttani, and his friend Kumar, 24, of Medinapuram, were riding towards Tiruttani from Tiruvallur when their motorcycle collided head-on with another two-wheeler at Lakshmapuram. The other motorcycle was ridden by Sanjeevi Raman, 31, of Chromepet, who was heading towards Chennai from Tiruttani.

The impact threw the riders off the vehicles. Tharun and Sanjeevi Raman died on the spot, police said.
