Two persons, including a 16-year-old boy, were killed after a car went out of control and knocked them down on the Dindigul-Tiruchi National Highway at Karattupatti in the district on Sunday.
The police gave the names of the dead as R. Johnson, 16, of Karungulam in Manapparai taluk and V. Rajasekaran, 39, of Chettiyapatti village in Manapparai taluk. Police sources said Johnson, a Class X student of a government school, had put up a temporary stall on the roadside and was selling fish in the morning. Three persons were buying fish from the stall when a Chennai-bound car from Thoothukudi went out of control and knocked them down.
