Two persons on a scooter were killed and another injured after the vehicle and a car collided head-on on the Tiruchi-Rameswaram national highway in Thirugokarnam police station limits in Pudukottai district on Friday.
Police gave the names of the dead as D. Chinnarasu, 46, and M. Sadiq Basha, 38, - both of Pudukottai. The injured, P. Manikandan, 34, of Pudukottai is undergoing treatment at the Pudukottai Government Medical College and Hospital.
Police said the car was proceeding from Tiruchi towards Tiruchendur on the highway when it collided with the scooter that came in the opposite direction. Chinnarasu, Sadiq Basha, and Manikandan were riding the scooter which got damaged in the impact of the collision.
