Two killed in bus-freight carrier collision at Jegathapattinam

Two persons were killed and another woman was injured when a mini freight carrier and a TNSTC bus collided at Jegathapattinam in Pudukottai district on Monday.
The police gave the names of the deceased as P. Vijayakumar, 45, driver of the mini freight carrier, and M. Meenakshi, 54, both of Ramanathapuram district. The injured woman Thondeeswari, also from Ramanathapuram district, was admitted to the Pudukottai Government Medical College and Hospital.
The mini freight carrier was transporting fish from Nagapattinam to Thondi in Ramanathapuram district when the vehicle and the Chidambaram-bound TNSTC bus from Mudhukulathur collided head-on at Jegathapattinam around 2 p.m.
