Two held for posing as railway staff and robbing passengers

Two men were arrested for allegedly posing as railway employees, luring passengers with promises of reserved tickets and robbing them at secluded spots near Perambur. The accused were identified as Ajit Bhagat, 21, and Sanjeev Kumar, 32, both from Bihar.
According to the police, Rupesh Kumar, 24, who works at a private dal processing unit in Andhra Pradesh, had arrived at Perambur railway station on September 4 to travel to Bihar. The accused allegedly approached him near the station and offered to help him secure a reserved ticket.
They allegedly took Rupesh to Bandar Garden in Perambur, where they threatened him and fled with gold jewellery worth around ₹2.5 lakh, a mobile phone and ₹7,000 in cash.
