Two die in accidents in Salem
Two separate road accidents in Salem resulted in the deaths of an astrologer and a laborer on Sunday. Local police have registered cases and are currently investigating both incidents.

Two people were killed in separate accidents in the district on Sunday evening.
R. Harihara Subramani (40), a resident of Vinayagapuram near Narasingapuram and an astrologer, was heading to Thennankudipalayam on a moped around 8 p.m. on Sunday. While crossing the Attur bypass road, a car driven by a doctor, Nirmal Kumaran (26), a resident of Poonamallee in Chennai, hit the two-wheeler. In the accident, Subramani sustained grievous injuries and died on the spot. The Attur Rural police registered a case and are investigating.
