Two-day town planning forum begins tomorrow

The Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) is hosting a three-day open forum to address pending building approvals and land regularisation issues. This initiative follows a successful previous session aimed at streamlining administrative processes for citizens.
Why it matters
It demonstrates local government efforts to improve administrative efficiency and public service delivery through direct engagement.
Buoyed by an overwhelming response to its recent grievance-redressal drive, the Greater Visakhapatnam Municipal Corporation (GVMC) will host another three-day Special Town Planning Open Forum from September 15-17.
Announcing the initiative on Sunday, GVMC Commissioner Ketan Garg stated that the special drive will operate daily from 10.30 a.m. to 5.00 p.m. at the Conference Hall of the GVMC Head Office. The camp is exclusively aimed at expediting long-pending issues across all zones regarding building approvals under the Andhra Pradesh Development Permission Management System (APDPMS), TDR Online, and the Land Regularisation Scheme (LRS).
The previous open forum, held on September 10 and 11, drew significant public participation. Officials noted that having citizens, town-planning personnel, and Licensed Technical Persons (LTPs) under one roof facilitated direct file scrutiny and swift resolutions.
