Two-day Thiruvasagam conference to be held in Tiruvannamalai

A two-day conference dedicated to the Thiruvasagam hymns will take place in Tiruvannamalai to promote Tamil literature among the youth. The event will feature virtual participation, debates, and exhibitions.
Why it matters
The event serves as a cultural initiative to preserve and promote classical Tamil spiritual literature.
A two-day conference on Thiruvasagam, a volume of Tamil hymns composed by Saivite poet Manikkavacakar, will be held at Madhavi Panneerselvam Hall near Arunachaleswar temple in Tiruvannamalai town on July 25 and 26.
According to poet Vijaykrishnan, a member of Tiruvannamalai Thiruperunthurai Adigalar Arakattalai, which would organise the event, said that the spiritual conference was aimed at promoting 51 compositions that comprises Thiruvasagam and create awareness about rich Tamil literature to the younger generation.
As part of the event, around one lakh participants worldwide will participate, mainly virtually, in writing 10 compositions from Thiruvasagam on Saturday to mark the occasion.
