Two arrested on charges of rape

The Peerumade police have arrested two persons, including a government official, for allegedly raping a woman at a resort in Kuttikkanam, Idukki. According to the police, the arrested individuals have been identified as Jiyo Sebastian, a resident of Erumeli, and Sudhev Kumar, a resident of Thiruvananthapuram.

The police said the incident occurred in 2022. The accused allegedly raped the woman, recorded videos of the assault, and later shared them with a friend. After the video was leaked, the victim lodged a police complaint, leading to their arrest.
