Two arrested on charges of peddling drugs

Bajpe police arrested two individuals for drug peddling after seizing 1.2 kg of cannabis during a vehicle check. The suspects were remanded to judicial custody, and police are currently searching for the supplier.

The Bajpe police have arrested two alleged drug peddlers and have recovered 1.2 kg of cannabis worth ₹65,000 from them.
The police identified the accused as Rakshit, 23, and Akshay B., 23, both from Kallige village, near Benjanpadavu in Bantwal taluk.
In a press release, the police said that during the vehicle-checking drive on Saturday, they stopped the scooter on which the two accused were riding. Instead of stopping, the accused went ahead, and the police chased and caught the accused.
The police checked the scooter and seized 1.214 kg of cannabis that the accused possessed. The accused told the police that they had procured the cannabis from a person in Maripalla and that they were on their way to sell it to their clients.
