Two men were arrested for allegedly stealing eight mobile phones from truck drivers who were asleep on the terrace of a transport company in Madhavaram.
According to the police, one of the truck drivers, Kapil, 33, from Thanjavur, returned to the transport company where he worked after unloading goods in Vijayawada on Monday, and slept on the terrace with other truck drivers.
When Kapil woke up early on Tuesday, he found that his mobile phone and those of seven other truck drivers had been stolen. Based on his complaint, the Crime Wing of the Madhavaram Police Station registered a case and launched an investigation.
The probe revealed that the suspects had arrived on a motorcycle and stolen the mobile phones.
