Two arrested for murdering youth in brawl near Coimbatore

The Vadavalli police on Friday arrested two persons in connection with the murder of a 23-year-old youth, whose body was found in a deserted area behind Bharathiar University campus in Coimbatore on Thursday.
S. Akash (22) of Aruppukottai in Virudhunagar district and Tilak Suriya (23) of Kalveerampalayam were arrested for murdering R. Sasikumar.
The police said that Akash, who had been doing a contract job in the university, resided at Bommanampalayam. Suriya, a hawker by occupation, had been into the sale of dry fish and garlic.
According to the police, Akash, Suriya and Sasikumar used to consume alcohol in a deserted place behind the university campus. They consumed alcohol at the place on Wednesday night and it ended up in a brawl. Akash and Suriya strangled Sasikumar to death, said the police.
