A surveyor and his assistant were arrested on charges of demanding and accepting bribe in Dharmapuri district on Monday evening.
P. Krishnan, a resident of Nagalur near A. Pallipatti at Pappireddipatti in Dharmapuri district, had bought three housing plots near Nagalur. He approached Erulapatti village surveyor Moorthy for separate patta for the land. However, Moorthy had allegedly demanded a bribe of ₹4,000 to arrange for separate patta.
