Two arrested for attacking security guard with knife in Besant Nagar

Two youngsters were arrested for allegedly attacking a 39-year-old security guard with a knife after he questioned one of them for harassing his daughter in Besant Nagar.

The victim, Dilthamai, a native of Nepal, works as a security guard at a house in Oorur Alcott Kuppam and lives there with his family. One of the accused, Sujith Mukhiya, a native of Bihar who works as a cook at the same house, had allegedly been harassing Dilthamai’s daughter, asking her to be in a relationship with him.

On the night of October 12, the woman informed her father about the harassment. When Dilthamai questioned Sujith Mukhiya, an argument broke out. The accused allegedly abused and assaulted him before Sujith Mukhiya and his friend, Amarjit Amar, attacked him with a vegetable-cutting knife and fled.
