Twin bridges set to ease travel between Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram
New bridges over the Vegavati and Suvarnamukhi rivers are nearing completion, significantly reducing travel time between Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram. The project aims to resolve long-standing traffic congestion and infrastructure issues in the region.

Travel time between Vizianagaram and Parvathipuram via Bobbili is expected to reduce with the completion of the bridge across the Vegavati River near Bobbili. The bridge across the Suvarnamukhi River is already completed, while work on the other bridge across the Vegavati River, near Paradi village is nearing completion.
Presently, the travel time from Vizianagaram to Parvathipuram in a bus takes around 3 hours. This time is expected to come down to around 2.15 hours after the bridge on the Vegavati River is commissioned.
Commuters have been facing difficulties for nearly decade because of the dilapidated condition of the old bridges, constructed during the British regime.
