Twelve dead, 33 injured in Russian strikes across Kyiv
Russian forces launched a massive overnight missile and drone attack across Kyiv and surrounding regions, resulting in at least 16 deaths and significant infrastructure damage. President Zelensky criticized international allies for failing to provide sufficient air defense systems to counter the escalation.

Russian strikes have killed 16 people and injured more than 40 in Kyiv and the surrounding region as President Volodymyr Zelensky said a failure by Ukraine's allies to replenish its stock of air defence missiles was costing lives.
Buildings were damaged in the attack early this morning and parts of the Ukrainian capital were left without power.
People were trapped in one residential building and fires broke out in multiple locations, while non-residential facilities, warehouses and a children's hospital were also hit, Mayor Vitali Klitschko said.
Witnesses reported hearing more than a dozen explosions.
The upper floors of a nine-storey residential block were destroyed in Kyiv's Solomianskyi district, where the majority of the 15 deaths in the capital occurred, Mayor Klitschko said.
In the region surrounding the Ukrainian capital, another person was killed, an official said separately on Telegram.
