Twelve arrested in connection with Middlesbrough crash that killed two police officers
Twelve people have been arrested following a fatal car crash in Middlesbrough that resulted in the deaths of two police officers. The Cleveland Police Federation is providing support to colleagues as they process the tragedy.

The chairman of Cleveland Police Federation has described the "surreal" moment she found out about the death of the two officers in the A66 crash.
In a message to police federation members, Lauren Somerville says she received a call at 05:44, about two hours after the collision.
"I went straight to force headquarters and I don’t think I’ll ever forget walking in there that morning. People looked shell-shocked and frightened. These were my colleagues. This was our force. Two of our officers weren’t coming home."
