TVK govt completes 100 days in TN, showcases women safety measures & welfare initiatives

CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu government led by chief minister C Joseph Vijay on Monday highlighted its achievements during the first 100 days in office, describing the period as a transformative phase in the state's political landscape.Releasing an official video and a comprehensive set of infographics, the Chief Minister's Office (CMO) termed the milestone "Governance for Generations" and said the government had focused on delivering poll promises and laying the foundation for long-term development, according to news agency PTI.According to the 100-day report, the government adopted a zero-tolerance approach towards corruption, deployed the specialised "Singapenn" task force for women's safety, and launched a statewide anti-drug drive aimed at protecting the youth.The report also highlighted key economic initiatives, including investment commitments worth Rs 1.02 lakh crore secured through the Vettri Tamil Nadu Investment Conclave, the rollout of the Vettri Housing Scheme, waiver of agricultural loans for marginal farmers, and the closure of 717 TASMAC liquor outlets.The government said the initiatives reflected its focus on institutional accountability, infrastructure growth and welfare measures aimed at benefiting future generations.The video released by the CMO underscored the administration's commitment to fulfilling its promises and ensuring accountability.The infographics also highlighted welfare schemes, including the Thaaimaaman Thanga Mothiram scheme under which newborns receive a one-gram gold ring, distribution of an eight-gram gold coin and a silk saree to eligible women as a wedding gift, the Vettri Skill Training scheme, the Perunthalaivar Kamarajar breakfast scheme for schoolchildren, a housing scheme for the poor, and 200 units of free electricity.In the Assembly, Speaker J C D Prabhakar praised the chief minister's welfare initiatives and described the first 100 days of the government as a significant milestone in Tamil Nadu's history.Commending the government's efforts in social welfare, women's safety, skill development and employment generation, Prabhakar said Vijay had demonstrated that the ruling Tamilaga Vettri Kazhagam (TVK) administration was committed to serving the people."The first 100 days in office marks a new change in Tamil Nadu's history, with the CM taking several appreciable initiatives on women's safety, social welfare schemes, providing 200 units free power, waiving of cooperative farm loans, announcing to construct quality homes for the poor, skill development schemes, proving that this is a government for the people," Prabhakar said."The milestone lays a strong foundation for the future dreams of Tamil Nadu to facilitate a transparent and corrupt-free governance, and transform the state into a prosperous and strong Tamil Nadu," the Speaker said.You Can Also Check: Gold Rate in Chennai | Silver Rate in Chennai | Bank Holidays in Chennai | Public Holidays in Chennai | Chennai AQI | Weather in Chennai | Petrol Price in Chennai | Diesel Price in Chennai | CNG Price in Chennai | LPG Price in ChennaiStay updated with the latest Chennai news.
