Mumbai police have registered an FIR against 12 named accused and 350 others in connection with Saturday’s protest near August Kranti Maidan, DCP Zone 2 Ragasudha R. said.
The case was registered at Gamdevi police station under Sections 223, 126(2), 189(2), 189(3) and 189(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS). Tushar Gandhi, Shailendra Kamble, Prakash Reddy and Imran Khan are among the 12 named accused, the officer said.
More than 500 police personnel were deployed along with riot control police unit near the protest site. Police barricaded roads leading to the maidan on October 10, 2026 and prevented protesters from reaching the ground. Those arriving near Nana Chowk were detained and taken to police stations. Mr. Gandhi was detained in Bandra while heading to the gathering and taken to D.N. Nagar police station.
