Botswana opened the scoring in the 37th minute through Tatayone Kgamanyane. The hosts took the lead after two goals by Hazem Mastouri, who scored before and after the break. However, Lebogang Ditshele equalized in the 60th minute, denying Tunisia their first win in qualifying.
For Tunisia, this was the second consecutive draw at the start of qualifying: in the previous match, the team drew 1:1 at home with Uganda. After two rounds, Botswana and Tunisia have two points each, while Libya and Uganda have one apiece. In the next group match, Uganda will play Libya in Hoima.
