Tullamore power to a fourth Offaly title on the bounce
Tullamore secured their fourth consecutive Offaly Senior Football Championship title by defeating rivals Ferbane. Despite a competitive first half, Tullamore dominated the second period to win comfortably.
Why it matters
This victory marks a historic achievement for the club, representing their first four-in-a-row title since 1900.
Tullamore showed why they have been so dominant in Offaly with a ruthlessly professional display as they defeated their great rivals Ferbane for the fourth consecutive year in the Offaly SFC final on Sunday.
Playing almost flawless football on their own patch, Tullamore controlled the game almost the whole way and won this more comfortably than some of their other battles with Ferbane in recent years.
It was Tullamore's second four-in-a-row and their first since 1900.
A very lively and evenly contested first half ended with the sides tied at 1-07 to 0-10 at the break. Ferbane had first use of the wind and Tullamore would have been happy with that position but it was still all to play for.
