Truro City striker Jack Stretton has the potential to be one of the National League South's best strikers, believes manager John Askey.

Stretton's two late goals ensured the Tinners came from a goal down to win 2-1 at league leaders Maidstone United.

The victory lifts the Cornish side up to sixth in the division, two points off the top of the table with a game in hand.

Stretton scored for the first time since March, with his pair of goals doubling his tally for Truro since joining in January.

"I thought once he scored he looked a different player," Askey told BBC Radio Cornwall.

"I think he's been huffing and puffing and his endeavour is always there, but you never felt as though his confidence was there.
