Trump weighs 'big decision' on Iran, rejects AI push in major UN speech on 'American power'

Donald Trump has said he must decide whether to make a deal with Iran or "annihilate the Islamic Republic" during a speech to world leaders at the UN.

A day after many countries asked the UN to consider creating a supervisory body for AI, Mr Trump said the US would reject efforts to "construct a globalist scheme" to control the technology.

More than 100 world leaders, including Anthony Albanese, will address the UN General Assembly as part of its annual high-level week.
