Trump pushes for Lindsey Graham’s sister to finish his Senate term
Following the death of U.S. Senator Lindsey Graham, South Carolina Governor Henry McMaster has appointed Graham's sister, Darline Graham Nordone, to serve the remainder of his term. Nordone will be the first woman to represent South Carolina in the U.S. Senate.

Lindsey Graham’s sister, Darline Graham Nordone, has been named as her late brother’s temporary replacement in the U.S. Senate after his unexpected death over the weekend.
South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster announced at a news conference at the Statehouse on Monday that Nordone would serve the remaining months on Graham’s current term, which expires in January.
A person familiar with the appointment process but not authorized to speak about it publicly said Nordone would be sworn in Wednesday. She will be the first woman to represent the state in the U.S. Senate.
