Trucks carrying minerals told to fit GPS, synchronise it with mineral management system by September 30

All the trucks carrying minerals from the quarries, crushers and the stock yards in the district should be fitted with Automotive Industry Standard 140 GPS and synchronise the same with the Mineral Management System (MiMaS) portal before September 30, 2026 to eradicate illegal transportation of minerals.
In a statement, District Collector Anand Mohan said the district administration had instructed the truck owners to fit Automotive Industry Standard 140 GPS in their vehicles carrying minerals from the quarries and the stock yards and synchronise it with MiMaS portal before August 31, 2026. However, the AIS 140 GPS has been fitted in only 9% of the trucks transporting minerals in Tirunelveli district and synchronised the same with MiMaS portal.
