Tripura Chief Minister, Dr. Manik Saha, inaugurated the fourth major public hospital in Agartala on Sunday (July 12, 2026) to ease patient pressure and meet demand for a super specialty hospital in Tripura. The new facility has been named Dr. Syama Prasad Mookerjee Agartala Civil Hospital.
The Chief Minister said multidisciplinary health services have been provided through the development of infrastructure, installation of advanced technology, and specialist services. “It is a matter of great pride that our specialists have successfully performed kidney transplants,” he said.
The Chief Minister announced that the State Government has considerably increased the number of beds in hospitals to cope with pressure. The number of physicians and surgeons across departments has increased manifold.
