Tremors felt across Delhi-NCR as 4.9-magnitude quake hits Uttarakhand’s Chamoli

A 4.9-magnitude earthquake struck the Chamoli district of Uttarakhand on Tuesday night, causing tremors that were felt as far away as Delhi-NCR. The National Centre for Seismology reported the epicenter at a depth of 13 km.

According to the National Centre for Seismology (NCS) — the nodal government agency monitoring earthquake activity — the epicentre was located at a depth of 13 km in Chamoli.
The quake, which logged 4.9 magnitude on the Richter’s scale, hit at 10.23 p.m., the NCS added.
