Treasury yields edge higher as volatile week wraps up - CNBC

Treasury yields moved higher on Friday as investors continued to look for clues on the trajectory of monetary policy.

The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note climbed back above the 5% level, rising more than 5 basis points to 5.006%. The yield on the 2-year Treasury note gained 7 basis points at 4.76%, while the 30-year Treasury bond yield rose more than 3 basis points to trade to 5.331%.

One basis point is equal to 0.01%, and yields and prices move in opposite directions.

Investors are looking for clues on the trajectory of monetary policy, after the Federal Reserve's FOMC meeting concluded on Wednesday with its first rate hike in three years. The Fed signaled that further tightening could be in the cards.
