Just like the rest of the audience, he had no idea how the six-part crime series would end.
But he knew it followed outsider detectives Ivan Lucic (Michael Dorman) and Nell Buchanan (Liv Hewson), who might well be undone in their attempt to solve a mystery decapitation in a desolate opal mining town where the locals would prefer the truth stay buried.
That's because, unlike the rest of the audience, he wrote the book that the TV adaptation was based on.
