Travis Kelce-backed Six Flags: How is its $20.8M solar project going green?
Six Flags Magic Mountain has activated a massive solar carport project that generates enough electricity to power two theme parks. The installation includes solar canopies, battery storage, and EV charging stations, supported by brand ambassador Travis Kelce.
Why it matters
This project demonstrates how large-scale commercial infrastructure can be repurposed for renewable energy generation to achieve carbon neutrality.
A theme park parking lot is usually a place where cars sit before the real fun begins. At Six Flags Magic Mountain in California, it now plays a much bigger role. The park has fully activated a major solar power project covering thousands of parking spaces, turning an everyday guest facility into a large-scale energy source. The installation is designed to generate enough electricity to offset the annual consumption of both Six Flags Magic Mountain and neighbouring Hurricane Harbor Los Angeles. The move also arrives as NFL star Travis Kelce continues his high-profile relationship with Six Flags as the company’s brand ambassador.Six Flags Magic Mountain solar project now powers two parksThe newly energised project includes solar canopies covering 4,315 parking spaces, giving the Magic Mountain parking area a striking new purpose.
