Travis Barker knows health is not a small thing.

That's why the Blink-182 drummer underwent surgery to address recent numbness in his hand, sharing a photo of himself laying in a hospital bed with his wife Kourtney Kardashian by his side.

"I had surgery yesterday," Barker captioned the selfie on his Instagram Story Oct. 7. "My arm, hand and fingers have been numb since a show I played last month. I did a nerve test Monday after my show and turns out I needed a cubital tunnel release to fix the nerve."

The cubital tunnel is a narrow passageway of muscle, bone and ligament located on the inside of the elbow through which the ulnar nerve passes, according to Johns Hopkins . Tingling and numbness in the hands can occur when the ulnar nerve is pinched or damaged.

And for Barker, getting the surgery was vital for his career.
