Trasi, Maravanthe beach projects to be completed in four months, says Tourism Minister

Tourism and Energy Minister K.J. George said on Monday that the development projects at Trasi and Maravanthe beaches in Udupi district will be completed within the next three to four months to facilitate tourists.

Speaking after inspecting the projects at the two beaches, he said the facilities at Trasi Beach—including parking, a food court, a cycle track, and an open-air theatre—have been under implementation at a cost of about ₹9.95 crore over the past two years.

If the beaches are developed and modern facilities such as drinking water, lighting, well-equipped toilets, vehicle parking, and seating are provided, the tourism sector will gain further strength and footfall will increase, boosting local employment opportunities, he added.

Mr. George said discussions will be held with engineers of the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) to construct a skywalk over National Highway 66 to connect Trasi beach to a nearby hotel.
