Transport Minister inspects electric bus to be operated from Alandur depot
Transport Minister A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban inspected a new electric bus depot in Alandur, Chennai. The facility is part of a sustainable urban transport initiative that will introduce 750 air-conditioned electric buses to the city.

Transport Minister A. Vijay Tamilan Parthiban inspected the electric bus depot of the Metropolitan Transport Corporation (MTC) which is being developed in Alandur as part of phase 2 project under the Chennai City Partnership – Sustainable Urban Services Programme (CCP-SUSP) on Sunday.
The Minister also enquired about the charging facility being created at the bus depot. A total of 750 low floor air-conditioned electric buses would be operated by the MTC under the gross cost control through private bus operator.
MTC Managing Director D. Mohan was also present.
