A track "irregularity" has been found on the rails where a train came off the tracks in Lewes last week, investigators have said.
The Rail Accident Investigation Branch has released its initial report , external into the derailment which took place on Thursday 13 August, the hottest day of the year. The derailment threw three carriages off the track and onto their side, injuring 30 people, two of whom are still in hospital.
