Trail of Tears Marker to Be Unveiled in Pine Bluff on National Trail of Tears Remembrance Day
A new marker is being unveiled in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to commemorate the Trail of Tears and the forced removal of Indigenous peoples through Jefferson County. The site honors the history of the Cherokee, Seminole, and other nations who traveled the Arkansas River between 1830 and 1840.

The ceremony begins at 11 a.m. at the Sgt. Elga Lee Roberts Jefferson County Veterans Service Office, 114 South State Street, within the Delta Rhythm & Bayous Cultural District. The program will run approximately 45 minutes and is free and open to the public.
