The incidents were recorded in the Namibian Police weekend crime report as the country observed National Prayer Day across all 14 regions on Saturday, 12 September 2026, under the theme, “Seeking Divine Intervention for Behavioural Change. God Knows. God Hears. God Sees.”

In Okongo, on Saturday, a 46-year-old Namibian man allegedly shot his 43-year-old girlfriend in the head and right arm with a pistol before shooting himself in the head.

Both were taken to Okongo State Hospital and later transferred to Onandjokwe State Hospital in serious condition. However, the man died from his head injuries upon arrival at the hospital, while the woman remains admitted with serious injuries.
