Following the death of two minor boys during a Ganesha immersion procession in Raichur recently, Deputy Commissioner Poovitha S. visited the grieving families on Sunday to offer her condolences and assure them of full State support and compensation under the Chief Minister’s relief fund.
Superintendent of Police Arunangshu Giri and Assistant Commissioner of the Raichur Sub-Division Hampanna Sajjan accompanied the Ms. Poovitha during the visit.
In the mishap that occurred on Saturday, 12-year-old Suchetkumar and 13-year-old Charankumar died, while a 35-year-old man, Vijay, was injured after all three fell from a moving tractor carrying a Ganesha idol during the procession when the driver allegedly failed to negotiate a speed breaker.
The officials spent time speaking with the parents and family members, offering their heartfelt condolences for the sudden loss during the festive celebrations.
