LAHORE - City Traffic Police Lahore (CTPL) has suspended the driving licenses of 170 drivers involved in fatal road accidents as part of its zero-tolerance policy to prevent accidents and ensure public safety. Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Lahore Syed Abdul Raheem Shirazi said that the driving licences of drivers involved in every fatal and serious non-fatal accident would now be suspended. Drivers responsible for fatal accidents would also face legal proceedings in addition to licence suspension, subject to court orders. He said that reckless driving would result in the suspension of a driving licence for at least one year. Drivers found operating vehicles despite having suspended licenses could face fresh legal cases.
