Trade unions in Dindigul, India, staged a road blockade to protest against the central government's labor codes and the privatization of public sector undertakings. Over 300 protesters were detained by police during the demonstration.

The members of these trade unions demanded the withdrawal of the four labour codes. The labour codes were anti-worker, they said.
The members also opposed the privatisation of public sector undertakings. They said the minimum salary to be paid to workers should be raised to ₹42,000.
