Track doubling of Aduthurai - Sundaraperumal Kovil BG stretch to take off soon at a cost of ₹289.17 crore

The Southern Railway Construction Organisation, Chennai, has been entrusted with the task of executing the multi-crore doubling project sanctioned by Railway Board, New Delhi. The project has been approved ahead of Mahamaham , which is scheduled to take place from February 29 to March 9, 2028 at Kumbakonam. The 10-day festival celebrated once in 12 years is expected to attract a large number of devotees.
An official communication from the Railway Board sanctioning the doubling project “at a completion cost of ₹289.17 crore” was sent a few days ago to the Southern Railway General Manager and the Southern Railway Construction Organisation, Chennai.
