One more migrant worker who was undergoing treatment after reportedly inhaling toxic gas inside the store room of a fishing boat at the Beypore harbour in Kozhikode died on Sunday (October 11, 2026).

The deceased, Sachin Das, was a native of West Bengal. Another worker from the State, Dilip Sur, died earlier following the incident.

Both men were employed on the fishing boat Tesla . The incident occurred on October 9, 2026, when they were collecting the stock from the storeroom. A lack of fresh air inside the enclosed space is suspected to have caused them to lose consciousness.

The workers were found motionless when they were brought out of the room. They were administered cardiopulmonary resuscitation in the ambulance while being shifted to hospital. Both of them were in a critical state.
